Just an update - the WSU Softball team is now #1 in the HL. They are 20-17/8-2 HL. This is a young team starting several freshman. They seem to be heading
towards taking the regular season and then the tourney! Another WSU success Story in Athletics!

We are currently in 3rd place in the All Sports race for 2007-2008. Milwaukee is 1st, followed by Butler. Even though it seems like we are fairly far back
from Milwaukee, we are doing much better than they are in baseball, and they don't have softball. Butler also isn't doing well in either sport, so we
may have a good shot at capturing the trophy this year. I didn't see a breakdown of how points are assigned, but the standings are on the HL website in
the same place as the...

I was thinking about a recent discussion here regarding the All Sports Trophy. It seems to me that WSU would definitely be a contender this season. The two
basketball teams did well this year. The men's swimming team won and the women finished third. The baseball and softball teams should do well in their
leagues. I don't think men's soccer did well this past year, but I think the women did. Volleyball did okay as I recall. I don't know about golf,
tennis, track, and...

rbi, hitting streak, etc.) were each named horizon league player of the week.

I would add that they will host Loyola next Sat. in a 1:00 doubleheader, followed by a single game at 1:00 on Sunday.

In case you haven't noticed, this team is hitting a lot of homers and scoring a lot of runs. I think the team has about 5 seniors and the rest are freshmen
and sophmores. In any case, it is a predominantly "young" team of teenagers.

Of course the Big Bopper on this team is a senior.
