It sure looks as if Athletics is in good hand under the current Athletics Administration. Men's BBall won over 20 games for the 2nd straight year, women's BBall played in the HL Tourney Finals, WSU Softball won the HL Tourney Title a few hours ago and baseball is in 1st place. We don't need an unknown as Athletic Director when we already have a very capable replacement in Bob Grant as Athletic Director.

Strengthens Bob Grant's candidacy, doesn't it? We know he's clean. It may be unfair, but the other two guys take it on the chin because of fear of the unknown and the risks that come with it.

This should negate our interest in Teter immediately. Wright State should issue a press release removing him from consideration; we obviously don't want another Biancardi-type situation where the Wright State reputation is sullied due to infractions at another institution.

Considering the fact that program leadership is currently in good hands and it appears that we have the makings of a winning team, the next goal, I believe, is improving attendance. The new AD, be it Bob Grant or one of the other candidates, needs to represent a new, innovative direction to promote and market the program. More of the same worries me. I'm with you WSU Raider. I am just waiting for the selection to be made so we can move on at WSU. I still plan on attending all the games I can over the upcoming years. I'm sure Bob Grant will do a fine job, but hope all fans support whoever is selected for the post. I go with the assumption that the selection committee will pick the individual they think is best for the position.

Best of luck to the spring sports teams as they wrap up their seasons.

No problem, WSU Raider, I really do like Bob Grant and have known him since he started working for the Athletic Dept. and have seen first hand what he has accomplished while in various positions within Athletics. I know that Butler Athletics hires from within their own and it sure seems to work for them. I would certainly like to have some continuity within our own Athletic Dept. I, for one completely agree with you OhioPirate. The reason we were able to get Coach Brownell was he did not get along with the UNCW AD. I believe that Bob Grant is the obvious choice for AD.

Whoever we pick I at least hope the committee consults with Brownell before making the offer. I'm not saying we have to pick Coach's choice but we need to make sure Brownell will be happy/content working for whoever gets the job.

GMU's Kevin McNamee was the front runner for the vacant UNCW AD position last year (available because the old AD ran off Brownell and we proceeded to have the worst season in school history under his new hire) before the Chancellor advised that diversity is a strategic goal for the university under her watch. You are quite right,hoopster, no one would turn down the kind of money that the right BCS school would offer. However, Grant knows all the right people who could up the ante in order to keep Coach as long as possible until that right offer comes.

I'm not sure many Raider fans are aware of this fact, but Bob Grant was responsible for Brad Brownell's hiring. Grant came up with the original idea of contacting Brownell and championed the cause for Brownell. Hire Bob Grant and Brownell will be a fixture at WSU.

I say hire Bob Grant for the job. If he is impressive enough to make the final four then he is impressive enough to be hired. He already has the big money boosters and the contacts needed to raise money if needed. The Right Choice for Wright State is Bob Grant!!
