Thats right. I was at that game when WSU beat NCS. I traveled to the game with the late Ken Knight. As I recall the game was played at KY, but I have to admit my memory isn't perfect.

EDIT: When I went to bed last night I thought about it, and the KY trip was with a different friend to see us play KY. I think the NCAA trip was to either TN or FL, I can't remember which. I remember going to FL with Ken Knight brcause we stayed at a naval base in Orlando. Ken's friend was...

thanks for the info. as far as wsu athletics i really didn't care about anything but basketball until this year.

According to the baseball media guide, it shows us having beaten NC State in the 1994 Knoxville Regional by a score of 14-12, and then beating Arizona State the next day. But, that same media guide also shows us as only having 1 overall win in Regional tourney games as a DI school. I think the win against Arizona State was the misprint, because it listed them first (Arizona State 4, Wright State 7).

WSU will play Cleveland State in the softball championship. If we win tonight, the tourney is over. If CSU wins tonight, the deciding game will be tomorrow.

I don't think any team has won a Division I game, but I'm sure we've had Olympic sports individuls win NCAA matches (i.e. swimming, track, golf, etc).

ah now that you mention it i actually remember that. i'm wrong again. well how about this one: have we ever had a team win an ncaa tournament game since we moved up to division i? i'm really not sure.

If Loyola would beat CSU at 3:00 today, their game against us in the finals would be their 4th game of the day. That would have to give us a pretty nice advantage, being well rested after our game last night.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner--ok, it wasn't really a competition, but Wolf you are correct.

4 errors actually. i think 3 or 4 of wsu runs were unearned. but yes, they won! they play whoever emerges from the loser's bracket at 5 p.m. eastern time saturday, and the game is on the horizon league network, so if you're not busy you should check it out. i'm especially interested in this team since i cover them for the guardian and might get to travel wherever they go. if they lose tonight then they get a rematch sunday.

i'm not 100% sure about this, but i believe...

WSU is in the championship game! They beat CSU 6-4 tonight, helped a great deal by 3 CSU errors.

they beat uic 5-1, now they get no. 1 seed cleveland state tonight at 8. its a double-elimination tournament. if they beat csu they're in the championship game and need to win only one of two games to win the championship. if they lose they have to win two more games to get back into the championsip series. wsu won the tournament last year and can do it again this year. go raiders!

They played their opening round game today, winning 4-3 over 4th seed Loyola (WSU is the 3rd seed). As many of you know, this year's offense has set many school records, is all over the national rankings, and is probably the best in school history, but they managed only one hit through six innings and trailed 3-0 entering the bottom of the seventh. The Raiders rallied and scored two on a bases-loaded single by Allison Cox, and two more on another bases-loaded single by Bri Birl to win....
