Good to see you made it back safely, Roadtrip. Dr. Cusack insisted that the carload of us in the student section not risk anything driving back. Two guys did end up driving back after the game, but the band/spirit unit were nice enough to give the rest of us a lift home on the bus the next day.
Coach Stevens came up to us before the game and commented on how odd it was to see WSU students in the Dawg Pound. He was very nice to us, as were the UIC coaches sitting next to us and the HL...

From being at the game last night, I can tell you that Valpo had a huge contingent of fans last night. It sure looked to be over 500 or more. bdbogan and I decided to spend the night in Indy last night and glad that we did. We arrived home this afternoon about 2:45PM and saw a lot of vehicles in the median on I-70. We had no problem driving home because we took it slow and easy all the way. However, we are glad to be home.

I wonder how Valpo managed to finished in 6th place in the conference? Everytime I've seen them play against the Raiders they have certainly looked like the best team in the Horizon League.

Stl VU Fan, it should be an interesting game this afternoon. I am curious to see how well Valpo plays after having less than 24 hours rest and with CSU rested. That's the brutal part of this tournament setup. While CSU may be a bit rusty after the week layoff, I would much rather be in their shoes than Valpo's having played about 20 hours earlier. This is something that I worried about had WSU advanced.

I agree we had a very good year for a rebuilding year. It will be fun to watch this team next year. Glad Scottie and Jordan can say they went to the big dance. Many players cannot say that.

What a tough stretch for the raiders over the last four games. I am not happy with the result tonight, but the team exceded my expectations for this year. I did not believe we would have another 20 win season. I agree that the NIT is going to be a stretch. This young team managed to win some one point games that could easily have gone the other way. I hope some post season action will come along, but not so sure if it will happen. Great season for the young raiders!

Valpo has 3 guys we simply can't really guard. Lloyd, Huff, and Igbavoa. When they're on they are probably a lot tougher to guard than even Butler.

The good news is that Lloyd and Huff are graduating. It'll be interesting to see what kind of team Valpo has next year. I would assume they'll be good, but without Lloyd and Huff I'll like our chances a lot more!

As has been said, 21-10 is a very good season for this team. I know it met my expectations. It's just losing 4 out of the last 5 games that leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Moreover, every one of those losses were winnable. These are games that we were winning earlier in the season. The roles reversed and it isn't any fun.

As I said after last weekend's game, I will be glad to never see Huff in a Valpo uniform ever again.

I'm very dissapointed that our season has probably come to an end. We lost 3 games this year to Valpo. We lost 4 out of our final 5 games. I think our NIT chances just went away even with the CBI tournament included. If we happen to get a bid to the NIT we'd be an 8 seed for sure.
Tabler, Brown Wilson and Pleiman had a great game. Duggins was held in check in large part. We missed too many free throws. Still a good season overall at 21-10.

I didn't realize there were 2 threads going for this game!

I think the season is over for the Raiders. I don't see us getting invited to the CBI tournament either.

Overall it was a good season, but a pretty dissapointing ending. I'm looking forward to the Raiders beating Valpo next year at some point! Valpo and CSU should be a good game.

We don't deserve to go to the NIT after that. That's inexcusable.

21-10 though is not a bad year at all. Exceeded my expectations. But man I am soooo frustrated right now!!!!

Valpo deserves an invitation over us for sure. Beyond that, if they decide to take 2 HL teams, they would probably choose CSU because of the way we closed out the season.

I was afraid of this matchup. Huff was the one that concerned me the most and he did a lot of damage. Additionally, Bouchie hardly played after getting hurt and Iggybooey (sp) had a banged up shoulder and we still could not do it.

It's disappointing. Didn't we used to be a good FT shooting team at one time? FFF is right about the offensive rebounds. Just like last weekend, they really hurt us.

The NIT is probably remote having lost 4 out of the last 5 (again, as FFF mentioned). :-(

missed free throws are probably the single most frustrating thing for a fan to watch. it's the same dang shot every time, 70% plus should be the norm
