Again not trying to say your wrong and im right,....its just the facts! call it wrong; thats your right on this forum, to voice you opinion in a constructive manner, but I just cant see it that way. A sport not getting funds from the athletic budget isnt a university sport....its a sport but not a university sponsored one. :and im sitting im my apartment right now ;-) ) "

They are a Wright State team... It says so on their jerseys and every player is a WSU student... again, just because they don't receive funding is a moot point. WSU's hockey team won a national championship defeating varsity teams without a cent from the university... They're still a WSU sport... They might not have their own section on wsuraiders.com but not everything is so black and white. And I, along with the organization, believe we should support these teams as if they were official WSU sports... I don't see what the deal is with supporting them. We should want them to do well and succeed because in the end they are student athletes just like other WSU sports.

I don't see this going far. I don't oppose it however. How about we get about 8,000 plus in the Nutt House during basketball season then worry about this club football team.

More Power To the Team

These are WSU Students attempting to do something they enjoy. Who cares what sad, grumpy people have to say! This will help enhance their experience at WSU and that is all that matters. If you don't like it.......well.....you know! Don't support it! Very typical response from some of you....consistent with how you have always responded on this board.....unhappy and constantly critical!

WSU Football.....Best of Luck to all of you from this old Raider Lacrosse Club Player. We started a Lacrosse Club in 1985. Started games in '86 and it lasted until mid '90s. Went from winless to winning tournaments and some very impressive seasons. It takes effort, but it was great when I played and I have life-long friends as a result. We supported the varsity sports, as well. The sport was reborn in 2003 and from 2004-this year, we have had an Alumni Game between Lacrosse Club Alumni and the current team. We support the club however we can. We bought 15 helmets ($150+/helmet) one year and are discussing other ways to help them out each year. Today, many of the Alumni coach Lacrosse at various levels throughout the US. Back then, we consisted of mostly local boys first exposed to lacrosse at WSU. One of our distinguished Alumni even guided the Colorado HS Team he coaches to a State Championship recently. That is how even Club players give back!

If you have never been a part of a club, running one, etc., then try it. It's a great experience. We have guys coming back for one weekend for a Club Lacrosse Alumni game at a school that probably knows little about the sport, but in time it will grow as the local HSs pick the game up. Former players coma from Oregon, New Mexico, California, NJ, Colorado and all over Ohio and the Midwest.

Want to complaign about Club sports like Football, Hockey or Lacrosse then I'm guessing you had a low quality of student life at WSU or you are just pathetiic and grumpy to show such a lack of support for your fellow Raiders.

WSU Football, Hockey, Rugby, Lacrosse and all the rest - BEST OF LUCK!! Keep on doing what you are doing for yourselves and those who will follow. You are making your student life more fun and that can't be a bad thing! If you make it last 5 years, 10 years or more, great! If it ends, no worries. You'll have done more than many on here would dream to attempt. Everything is a life experience and wishing and hoping won't get it done, no matter what the activity - a sport, an instrument, a cause! More power to all of you!

I have enjoyed all sports at WSU and would bet those various club athletes are many of the first you'll find at a WSU B'ball or softball or baseball game. I know we had friends on most of those teams we rooted for.........GO RAIDERS!!

I think it is pretty impressive seeing a Hunter Green and Gold Football Jersey!! Very Nice!
