In front of me Ihave acopy of the IHSAA HIGH SCHOOL RECORD BOOK 2008. The cover reads the same open it up to first page there is info on the publisher Gene Milner along with picture of him and OSCAR ROBERTSON (another great INDIANA player who went to college in OHIO) . If you would like a copy of this publication you can reach Mr Milner at 765=653-2506 or gmilner@tds.net Once you get your copy you can go to page 4 headline reads MOST COMPLETE PLAYER AWARD TO TYLER KOCH. Below you will also see a list of the other top 24 players listed by stats not opinions or polls but facts. I hope this satisfies nilldog and hinkle goodwill. I dont usually like to be a part of such small and trivial bickering but when I SAY OR REPORT SOMETHING IT IS THE TRUTH. Just like all the talk about the IHSAA looking to do away with 4a because a lot of these schools cant put 200 hundred people in the stands. I watched Winchester and TYLER play 3A Washington and their twin 7 ft towers and loose by 11 pts at HINKLE. I Also watched WINCHESTER play 4a SECTIONAL WINNER CROWN POINT WINCHESTER lost in double overtime. At the state finals they lost to FT. WAYNE LUERS ( 6-0 against 4a ) by 2. Tyler scored 21,32 and 37 pts in these games. I two have played hs ball and college ball Koch does not stack his stats.
Dude, the IBCA (Indiana Basketball Coaches Association) publication is not the same thing as the IHSAA record book. If this award is something given out by the IBCA, it is not something the IHSAA acknowledges. This might be the biggest Wright State twist I've seen on this board. Hilarious.
I was on the all-region football team in high school with Rex Grossman, but that didn't mean I could have went and played in the SEC or was even comparable to him in talent. I was the fastest player on my team and our only offensive weapon, so I racked up a lot of yardage for that reason alone. Trust me, Koch is doing the exact same thing.
If you want to compare apples to apples, Garrett Butcher also went head-to-head during the regular-season against the twin towers (Zeller and Coy) of Washington HS and not only did his team win by 2, but Garrett hit the game-winning shot with 4 seconds remaining while scoring a team-high 28 points.
exhoosier, you may have played HS basketball and college hoops, but it wasn't in Indiana. You are clueless. You and your 12 posts can take a hike.
